Hammers United - New Supports Group (please read)
Mods, if you wouldn't mind making this a sticky, we'd appreciate that.

Hammers United is a West Ham United fans group dedicated to improving things for all West Ham Supporters young & old.

š—¦š˜š—®š˜š—²š—ŗš—²š—»š˜

1. We aim to engage the club's board in meaningful discussion aimed at improving all things related to supporting this great club of ours

A. The whole match day experience at The London Stadium needs massive improvement

B. We will also seek discussion on other matters important to supporters such as ticketing, pricing, mascots, stewarding, the memorial gardens, facilities for disabled supporters, Champion Place stones and Club Heritage.

Indeed on any matters of concern raised by our members

2. We will encourage the club's board to sanction substantial investment in the club's playing squad to give West Ham United the best possible chance of success on the pitch

3. We are a non-political group and our sole interest is the supporters of West Ham United

4. We will not be seeking any financial commitment from our members at all

5. This is not a protest group. It would be great if the Board delivered on all fronts, however, should they not deliver then we need to be organised and both ready and able to challenge them if the need arises

We urge you to join now via Facebook and our contact page or direct via email.

I really don't get why everyone isn't joining WHUISA.

all the previous bollocks about politics was smoke being blown up peoples arses.

It is a FSF official group; with that comes power, media, and legal links.

they are much more likely to kick-off and hold much more power over the rest of the fan base. EG if they said everyone boycott the next match then the stadium would be empty.
GSB wouldn't dare fuck around with them.

think Burnley x10

Have you any idea how that works between the Lazio ultras and their board? I canā€™t imagine they have the slippery likes of GSB running Lazio. Arenā€™t they s lot more matey with their fans?

really? you're missing out. second only to Florence in my book.

my point anyway was the the Lazio 'irriducibili' have a very strong influence of the clubs board, it would be nice to have a similar influence of our board.

I am sorry Goose but I don't understand what a jolly up to Rome has got to do with Hammers United.

Maybe next time the gang go on a jolly to Rome they should get some advice from the Lazio ā€œirriducibiliā€ on how to represent fans.

Old Father Time will resolve most of the problems in the fairly near future.

Iā€™m happy to stay patient and support the side in the meantime.

The board have looked at every fan group over the last 3 years with disdain and have demonstrated their power when it comes to suppressing organised protest. Iā€™ll let others speculate how but it didnā€™t happen did it?

Going for anything about the stadium is a waste of time in my opinion, the aim must be to get them out and away from the club. A binary choice.

They donā€™t own the stadium so always have the fall back of ā€œnot usā€ so you the way to hit them is in the pocket.

Donā€™t buy the toot out the shop, donā€™t buy the kit, donā€™t show up, cancel your ST if youā€™re brave enough, sing and shout against the cunts every game.

By the time Iā€™d written that out Iā€™d already convinced myself that with the new breed and the lapdogs weā€™re outnumbered so Hammers United need the numbers to puss the agenda.

Keep fighting till theyā€™re out.

chav_corner - will be in Saturday for Leicester will catch up on what the plans for group are.

WHUISA is not a political group. Just because idiots claim they are does not make it true.

The board have their reasons for refusing to talk to RWFG, as there was aggro online and beneath the directorsā€™ box, which rightly or wrongly was considered the same thing.

The board said they will only speak to the group of their choosing, quite possibly a hand picked choice.

Hammers United are putting it to the board that they cannot control which supporters groups form, and advise the board that they shouldnā€™t ignore independent groups made up of loyal die hard fans, loyal ā€œcustomersā€ to use Brady speak.

Itā€™s not a protest group, as such, more of a chance for the board to mend bridges between the boardroom and the fans. It will protest being ignored, of course.

We stick with it, remain patient and build numbers. The only way momentum will be slowed is if the club start doing everything right, pleasing everyone.

I canā€™t see that happening, and as long as there are issues of contention, there will be a need for dialogue between the fans and board, who will show themselves up as mad as hatters if they canā€™t see the sense in that.

Tomsdad, hopefully they will talk to us and we will not need to campaign. However if not then we plan to campaign by using the Press to shame West Ham into talking to us.Obviously we have to listen to what our members say on April 20th.If they continue with a hard line stance then we will be guided by the members on what to do.This could be a long fight. We never expected it to be easy and our committee are all totally committed to a satisfactory conclusion. We will make them take us seriously. Thanks for joining, together we can do this.

How are you planning to do that?
I take it that you will need to boost your ranks, but then what?
Serious questions, I joined, but seeing as what went before this, I really can't see the board taking another group that seriously.

I demand that bovril be sold at all merchant outlets.

I would also like to see the hammerettes come back. I went out with one of them in the 90s and getting off with her was one of my greatest achievements, making me a small celebrity in basildon at the time.

I can still recall to this day titting her up in priory park. Her knockers felt firm but jobbly, like lively cat meat. I was wearing kouros and flintstones jeans at the time. She must have been moist as a baby wipe because i had tram lines shaved in me hair by me aunty lynn

Well then we will have to campaign to make them listen.we are in this for the long haul and have no intention of giving up.

WCO

A good start would be the board acknowledging us at all. The OSB, even if there are well meaning people involved, have not kicked up any fuss on the many, as you said, legitimate points listed by HU, so nobody can criticise fans doubting they are fit for purpose.

Hopefully, the owners will see sense in having dialogue with a fans group that truly is independent of the board, and representative of old school values as well as being sympathetic to younger and newer fans.

They need to realise nothing is easy: not for fans to keep up their loyalty, financially and emotionally, and not for the owners to keep said fans reasonably satisfied.

I hadn't seen it, so cheers for point it out.

The way I see it is, the grievances can be put into two categories - "Petty" and "Fundamental".

Petty grievances are relatively easily fixed - tending the memorial gardens, charging less for mascots, reciprocal ticket discounts, etc.; shame on the Daves if they don't get most of them sorted straight away.

The fundamental ones, such as the matchday atmosphere and "gentrification" of the support base, are much more difficult to favourably resolve. Would a pop-up Nathan's actually stop gentrification, or would it just give the illusion of being back in happier times? (Though that illusion itself may be enough, who knows.)

Anyway. That's just my preliminary, offhand thought on the letter. I think all the concerns in the letter are legitimate, I'm just not sure what the next step(s) would be for favourably resolving the big ones.
